Remember The Screaming Sheep video? We’re helping sell it as an NFT

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Power Up NFTs to facilitate the sale of the viral The Screaming Sheep video as an NFT.

What the funge is an NFT?

An NFT, or a non-fungible token, is a digital collectible created using blockchain computer code. The craze began in 2017 but really took off last year with digital art.

We have represented The Screaming Sheep video for a number of years and has worked with the video owner to license the content out to brands and organisations, including Samsung, Dodge, Nickelodeon, MTV, TruTV, Channel 4 and more. The clip was also famously used in a 2015 Super Bowl commercial for Sprint.

The Screaming Sheep was posted on YouTube nearly a decade ago and quickly rose to fame for its hilarity and shock factor. Up until September 2012 the video generated only about 1,000 views on YouTube, until one fateful day it hit the front page of Reddit.

It is now considered to be one of the most famous viral pieces of content the internet has to offer, so presents a fantastic opportunity to be sold as an NFT.

We have partnered with Power Up NFTs — industry-leading NFT experts and creators of NFTs for some of the world’s most iconic brands — to auction The Screaming Sheep.

In May 2021, Charlie Bit My Finger sold for £500,000 as an NFT and this phenomenal sale helped NFTs to break into the mainstream media.

The auction of The Screaming Sheep will be held on 27th August on Foundation.app.
