We’re thrilled to share the news that our work with New Balance has been shortlisted for 2023 PPC Campaign of the Year at the UK Digital Growth Awards.

Now in its fourth year, the UK Digital Growth Awards recognises the very best in digital marketing. The annual event celebrates agencies who deliver real results for their clients, with awards focussed on campaigns that drive tangible growth.

Delivering 100+ YoY growth in a competitive market

In order to deliver ambitious sales and YoY revenue targets, New Balance approached us to boost their presence through Microsoft Ads (MSA).

Amidst fierce competition from both direct-to-consumer rivals alongside a growing number of resellers, New Balance needed to boost their presence and conversion rates to achieve the kind of growth they were looking for.

We do our best work when things are complex. This was that.

Running to the front line...

We’re Microsoft Advertising Partners and close with our MSA account team, together we fixed some outstanding tech issues for New Balance. Then we went to work.

Our approach focussed on a progressive use of the latest ad types and automated bidding through Smart Shopping campaigns. We then maxed our reach and efficiency through the Syndicated Search Partner Network.

We also leveraged machine learning and paired it with our fully optimised product feeds. This meant that we could push investment while maintaining an efficient return. Because we were ahead of the curve in terms of efficiency, we were then able to syphon budget from lower performing channels to up the investment in Microsoft Ads.

This combined focus on efficiency and effectiveness meant that we could prioritise activity and spend so that it delivered the optimal results for New Balance.

Despite ambitious targets, our campaign with New Balance not only met expectations it surpassed them.

All of the hard work paid off as we blitzed New Balance’s growth targets, pushing past our +100% YoY goal to achieve big numbers across the board. To achieve this, we built a three-pillared strategy that embraced modern search best practices, maximised product feeds and fine-tuned measurement. This is work that didn’t just deliver exceptional results over the course of a single year but put New Balance ahead of the curve – providing a solid foundation to scale activity and deliver exceptional growth well into the future.

Award-worthy results


+100% YoY growth.

Investment increased by 102% in the UK, 69% in France,66% in Germany and 124% in Spain.

In Smart Shopping alone, revenue was up by 37% with budget up by 69% to support this growth.

It's safe to say this is a campaign we can all be proud of. One that demonstrates our ability to not only deliver exceptional results but guide our clients through changing landscapes.
