The Media
Lift Effect

Media, creative and measurement only drive growth when they work as one.

Here's the framework that connects them, built around how your customers see your brand.

Scroll to see where the gaps appear.

Time to stop thinking in silos.

Your customers don’t think in paid, organic, brand or performance. They expect you to show up in the right place with the right message.

Most marketing teams don’t work that way. Media, creative and measurement often sit apart, each doing its job well, while the customer sees something disconnected.

This disconnect is costing marketers
growth at every stage of the funnel.

Competing for existing intent

Search interest has plateaued or fallen in several categories, leaving brands that mainly capture existing intent competing for a shrinking pool.

Attention that doesn't convert

Attention doesn’t convert when creative, media and insight can’t learn from each other fast enough.

Impact you can't prove

Engagement is easy to report. Without connected evidence, it's hard to show whether it moves people through the funnel and into sales.

One connected
system

The Media Lift Effect is Brave Bison and SocialChain's framework for connecting paid media, organic content, creative and measurement, built around one idea: demand creation and demand capture working together.

How to achieve the
Media Lift Effect

There are three key pillars of the Media Lift Effect. Each pillar feeds the next. The demand you create turns into action, and that action gets measured against commercial results, which shows you where to invest next.

Step 1

Create
demand

Step 2

Turn
attention
into action

Step 3

Prove
commercial
impact

Create demand

How effectively you generate consideration before customers start actively looking.

Build demand earlier

Shape discovery before customers start looking, through social, creators, organic content and paid amplification.

Be visible wherever discovery happens

Show up clearly across search, social, creators, communities and AI systems.

Clear, consistent content helps people and platforms understand what a brand or product offers.

Turn attention into action

How effectively reach and attention translate into consideration and action.

Use evidence to improve creative

Judge ideas on live audience and performance evidence, then feed what you learn into the next brief.

Build a shared learning loop

Bring research, search, content and testing signals together so they consistently shape creative and media planning.

Creative should be judged against its intended role, whether that's earning attention, or prompting action.

Prove commercial impact

Understanding how connected activity contributes to customer behaviour and business growth.

Measure incremental growth

Test whether results would have happened anyway, not just where they were recorded, using whichever method fits the decision.

Connect brand and commercial evidence

Bring brand response, search behaviour, revenue and incremental growth into one view, so no single platform or last click dominates the story.

Platform-reported ROAS can look strong without showing whether the investment created additional growth. Controlled experiments, lift studies, geo-testing and marketing mix modelling can provide stronger evidence.

Putting the Media Lift Effect in practice for New Balance

New Balance was competing for attention against more than other sportswear brands. It was also up against the retailers and marketplaces reselling its own products, so strong brand demand wasn’t converting into direct-to-consumer revenue.

Audience and creative signals identified the products and messages most likely to generate interest. Paid social, search, programmatic activity and product data then worked as one system: paid media amplified the strongest signals across the journey, search and shoppable formats captured the resulting intent, and measurement looked beyond the channel that got the final click.

There’s no shortage of activity. Or data.
