How GT World grew YouTube viewership from 1m to 40m a year

Challenge

When GT World first partnered with Brave Bison more than a decade ago, its YouTube channel was small compared with many of the major rights holders competing for motorsport audiences.

The long-term challenge was to transform YouTube into a meaningful audience and revenue channel by increasing views, subscribers and monetisation while ensuring GT World could compete for attention with much larger motorsport properties.

That required an ongoing YouTube channel growth and digital rights strategy rather than one-off campaign activity.

Solution

Brave Bison developed a bespoke YouTube content strategy built around the formats motorsport audiences actively seek out, including race highlights, compilations, Shorts and optimised visual packaging.

Our team continually tests and improves thumbnails, publishing approaches and content formats while combining channel growth with digital rights management and monetisation.

Over the partnership, annual viewership has grown from around 1 million to 40 million views. Subscribers have increased by more than 100% in the last three years, while annual revenue grew by 114%.
