Heroing Milk & More’s online grocery delivery service as a food lifeline during lockdown


Our challenge was to create a new digital platform to support Milk & More’s mission: delivering glass-bottled fresh milk (and 200 other products) to thousands of doorsteps across the UK.

As Milk & More operates solely through online and app orders, the business’s eCommerce system had to be capable of processing tens of thousands of daily transactions for delivery by 7am the following morning. All without crashing during peak demand.


We developed a smooth online experience that was reliable, easy and convenient, just like your friendly neighbourhood milkman or woman. Upgrading from SAP Hybris to SAP Commerce Cloud V2 increased performance and reliability.

Milk & More’s custom-built platform streamlined delivery rounds for existing and new addresses, making more products available. Plus, we implemented improved payment systems and user journeys to make placing an order even easier.

We knew the platform had to be robust enough to withstand demand during peak ordering times. What we didn’t know was that this would truly be put to the test when the pandemic hit soon after launch day.

Call it an extreme test – but it was one we passed with flying colours. In fact, countless customers and the BBC hailed Milk & More as a hero and food lifeline of the first lockdown.
